Hematological Indices of Experimental Rats Fed with Rat Chow Fortified with Processed Breadfruits

Background: The abundance of nutrients, vitamins, and fiber in breadfruit has been documented many literature studies that can hardly be exhausted are consumed majorly by the Igbos other southern parts Nigeria to ameliorate hunger.
 Aim: This study however was aimed at determining effect feeds fortified with grilled, preboiled, cooked on hematological indices wistar rats.
 Methods: Hematological parameters were determined using an automated hematology analyzer (Mindray-BC-5300). analyzed include Hemoglobin (HGB), Packed Cell Volume (PCV), Red Blood Cells (RBC), Platelets (PLT), Mean Corpuscular (MCV), (MCH), Concentration (MCHC), White (WBC), Neutrophils (NEUT), Lymphocytes (LYMPH), Monocytes (MON), Eosinophils (EOS) Basophils (BAS).
 Results: result from experiment indicated all groups showed no significant increase or decrease (p>0.05) their HGB, PCV, RBC, PLT, MCV, MCH MCHC when compared respective controls. white blood cell, neutrophil eosinophil concentrations experimental rats significantly increased (p<0.05) normal control group. A observed lymphocyte basophil concentration. monocyte levels a non-significant respect control.
 Conclusion: It may safe infer fortification feed negative physiological status animals as remained within range.
